Developed by RVIA and available exclusively through the RV
Learning Center, the course couples written material,
illustrations, audio, and video to enhance learning and the acquisition
of skills and knowledge. It comes complete with quizzes at the end of
each section. They are carefully designed to reinforce the material just
covered. Each quiz is instantly evaluated. You receive the information
you need to self-evaluate your work and assess your strengths and
weaknesses. The course is designed to take approximately 40 hours to
complete.
Sections include:
- Propane
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Brakes
- Suspensions & Towing
- Appliances
- Generators
- Hydraulics
- Exterior / Interior
- Expandable Rooms
- Miscellaneous (Welding, Safety, Customer Care)
The multimedia elements mean a computer
with high-speed internet is necessary to access and complete the
course. Registration is $249 per technician and offers
the technician access to the course for 12 months (no
extensions). Quantity discounts are available when registering four
or more techs at one time. Fees associated with the RV Service
Technician Certification are not included in the course
registration fee.
The final 205 question practice exam tests the technician's
knowledge and skill in the duties and tasks of a RV technician
identified in the RV Service Technician DACUM (Job and Task Analysis).
The practice exam will sample the technician's knowledge of these areas
by requiring the technician to answer questions to demonstrate his/her
experience and expertise. While the practice exam is modeled
after the actual certification test, it does not provide questions from
the actual test.

Testimonials
"It is not unusual to find our service
writers, wash boy and a few salespeople also sitting in on the classes.
We have posted signs that our service department closes at 4:00 PM on
Wednesdays for technician training. We have yet to experience a
dissatisfied customer by doing this. As a member of the RV Industry,
there is no doubt that this program is what we have needed for many
years."
Sherry Perkins, Tri-Am RV Center, Inc., Ocala, FL
“….The benefits of this
Distance Learning Network training are amazing! In our third year it
continues to improve productivity, lower our operational costs, and
supports our belief in lifelong learning. Many thanks to the visionaries
at FRVTA, to RVIA for the great curriculum, and to the participants and
supporters.”

more complicated jobs. We also expect them to assist some of the techs
who may not have the same knowledge as them."
--Brian Sanders, vice president, Bus Supply Company, McComb, MS
