The RV Technician Certification Preparation course was developed for working technicians as a preparation tool for taking the RVDA-RVIA RV Service Technician Certification Test. Developed by RVIA, and available through the RVDA Education Foundation’s RV Learning Center, it has been designed to keep technicians engaged while learning with interesting video explanations, audio voiceover, onscreen text, graphical representations of concepts, quizzes, and a mentor led technician community discussion forum.

Seventy-nine percent of RV technicians who completed the course passed the RVDA-RVIA Technician Certification test, compared to 61 percent of technicians who did not use the course to prepare for the test. The percentages are based on technicians who took the certification test between July 1, 2008 and January 1, 2010.

The sections within the course correspond to the RVDA-RVIA RV Service Technician Certification Test sections. Each section’s quiz is completed before advancing to the next lesson. Registration offers the technician access to the course for 12 months (sorry, no course extensions). Sections include:

Please note, that in order to operate this program, your computer must meet the minimum system requirements:

• Broadband internet connection (T line or other high-speed connection)
• PC only, Pentium II Processor or higher - MAC NOT SUPPORTED
• RAM: 256 MB of available RAM
• 1024 x 768 screen resolution
• High color setting (24 or 32 bit)
• Windows Media Player version 9 or higher
• Windows 98, 2000, XP, or Vista Operating System
• Sound card and speakers/headphones
• Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher for Windows
